You do realize that if Verizon matched the price for which you were eligible, you would have paid more. If you are upgrading a line of service to a new phone with a new 2yr contract, Amazon's price jumps to $129.99/phone. This means $259.98 for 2 phones instead of the $199.99 you paid with the BOGO offer you got.

I have never, in fifty years, experienced such terrible customer "service" as I have with Verizon.

Awful voicemail options, which you have to fight through, only to learn the business office is closed.  Being placed on hold for thirty minutes or more, or being disconnected.  Inability to transfer you to another department.  A lack of empathy or even friendliness.

It is so bad that when I instruct one of my employees to call Verizon, they view it tantamount to torture.

Today, I spent several hours trying to get problems resolved, and accomplished nothing except getting myself aggravated and wasting several hours.

Tomorrow I am going to sit down and write a letter because it will take less time than phoning them.

No monthly charge. They value their customers.  When companies corner the market like Verizon, they forget about the people who put them there.  Granted - they have a larger coverage area, which does suck when you're left with no other option, but I do foresee that changing dramatically in the next 5 years.  I rate a company based on customer service.  It's great to have superior coverage, but when a customer needs assistance, for any reason, and is met with inferior attitude... that trumps coverage any day for me.

Lets not fool ourself.. people like to pretend like the billions verizon invests into its network doesn't matter

but look at sprints 4g lte.. tmobile.. even att.. how many years are they behind at this point?

Things have a cost, you dont want to pay that cost and then say it isn't customer service? Giving away the business doesn't equal customer service..

This could change in a year.  T-Mobile is the only carrier that I hear of with plans for LTE-Advanced (the true 4G for those that like to argue this).  VZW and AT&T did something a little weird (to me) in their race to be "first" with LTE, because the version of the hardware that they used for LTE will require hardware upgrades to go to LTE-Advanced whereas the hardware versions that T-Mobile will use in their LTE rollout will only require a software upgrade to go to LTE-Advanced.  In the end, the route that T-Mobile chose will be cheaper and faster to true 4G for the company than the route that VZW and AT&T chose.

Forget about customer service by phone; It doesn't exist. After two years and probably 50-60 hours of phone time I gave up and filed a law suit in small claims court. They are forced to listen and respond when there is a judge in the room.

From what I understand...  Even if T-Mobile's hardware can support LTE+ speeds...  Where are they going to get the bandwidth?  By the time Verizon rolls out VoLTE/LTE+ they will have the back end support to accommodate those speeds.  T-Mobile will still be trying to acquire it.  Honestly Verizon is doing it the way I would do it.  Get the back end first and then do the front end to accommodate.  It would be a waste of money if you back end can't support the front end.

Honestly the way T-Mobile is doing it is more expensive.  Verizon can have LTE as their fall back while LTE+ is their staple when they start reframing without compromising a lot of speed.  T-Mobile on the other hand when they reframed and I still don't see them having enough bandwidth without the help of outside companies(like Sprint did with Clearwire, and what they are trying with Light) which can and often become more costly.
