How do I block data on an etalk phone?

Hello, I have an etalk phone.  Its prepaid.  I need it to not have internet access.  The guy at the store said, yes just get the 35 dollar plan, it has talk and text and 0 data.  Fine.  So i get home only to find that the phone can still access the internet.  Now i find it can still connect at low speed.  I call customer service and they said, just turn the data off.  Well, yes, but my kid can just turn it back on.  I read somewhere that verizon will put a free data block on a basic phone if you are a postpaid customer, is this true?  I am so confused.  I spent an hour at the store today only to get wrong info and countless time on the the phone with people that do not know what i am talking about.  What is wrong here?

If you are referring to the $35 Talk and Text prepaid plan, it includes unlimited 2G data at lower speeds. Some data usage would happen to send MMS text messages. Otherwise any other data usage would be fairly slow to load.

As for blocking data all together, I don't think it is possible on prepaid plans. That is one of the limitations with prepaid plans.

prepaid doesn't sell a plan without data. Any mobile data through a basic phone is too painful to want to use anyway.

Knowing all your options to prevent internet access is crucial.  We want to make sure we have all the details.  Is this phone currently active on a Verizon Prepaid or Postpaid?  We know you said it is a Prepaid phone but some of these can be activated Postpaid account as well.
