My Crux downloaded and installed an automatic software update today. Noticed that it fixed the urgent January/Febuary spelling problem. Anyone know what else it did?

Thank you all for your input on this issue.
The current software for the Pantech Crux is D8999VWAD32F.225. To check for current updates simply follow this path: Menu>Settings & Tools>Phone Info>Check for Updates. This will allow you to update to the current version.
The correct path to view your current SW version is: Menu>Settings & Tools>Phone Info>SW/HW Version.
Thanks,

If it still has it as "Febuary" it didn't fix much Sorry, I have no idea what the update did.

I have checked the Verizon Wireless systems and there are no recent Software updates for the Pantech Crux CDM8999.

You say there were no upgrades, tho, I had one come across. Not being knowledgeable of these things, I assumed since it said it was from Verizon, it was ok. I read another post today, at another blog, that the person had the same thing and then the battery didn't last for more than 6 hours. This is what happened to me.... I even went to the store and had them make the battery right... which I thought had gone bad.... I just installed it, and charged it. I will know in a short while if it is the battery or if it was something downloaded supposedly from Verizon that is causing it.
Let me know what you think.....
Rick.... {edited for privacy}
thanks....

The same thing happened to me - a software update came in on March 28.
I completely charged my phone last night before bed, unplugged it, set my alarms for the morning, and went to sleep. I woke up to my phone only having 2 of the 4 battery bars - the bluetooth is off, I wasn't using music or anything.
Can anyone explain this??

I am having the same issue with my new phone, new account not holding a charge. It did for the first week or so then stopped right around that March 28th date. I just called tech support and they are sending me a new phone. I told him about the messages here. He said the more calls they get regarding the same issue the quicker they will be to see what is going on and make any corrections that need to be made to the software. The person I talked said he had had no other calls.

We have checked for known battery issues and did not find any have been reported. Please try the following:
- Remove the battery from the device to ensure it has no corrosion on its contacts and that it fits securely on the device.
- Replace the battery onto the device then ensure the battery is charged.
- Ensure the device is properly connected to a charger.
- Verify the device charging indicator and any indicator on the charger are signaling that a charge is occurring.

The official response here is the same song and dance I got when I took mine to the Verizon store the other day.
Hey, Verizon! We're not stupid. I don't suddenly forget how to charge a phone. One week I'm able to go most of that week on a single charge, then you do an update, and now I'm doing good to get a half a day out of a charge.
Face it: there's a problem with that update. I've called 611 THREE times and it's still discharging too quickly. I have two identical phones and the probility of them both having a bad battery, or corrosion, or whatever AT THE EXACT SAME TIME is zero. They both got the update, they both started discharging too quickly.
Now, can you put someone on this that doesn't just copy and paste from a script?

I had the same issue. I got the phone last week. First thing it did after activating it was download an update. After a full charge it was dead less than 12 hours later. I charge it everyday so don't know if it's holding a charge now or not....
