all my stored phone numbers in contacts have been deleted?

My phone contacts have been deleted.  This is a 5c and, a horrible phone.  Why this happened, I don't know.

Do you have them backed up via iCloud? Settings > iCloud > Contacts

You can always go to icloud.com and login and click on Contacts to see them. If they are still on icloud.com your set. Not sure why they would simply disappear from your iPhone though.
