I just ordered my new phone and was able to bill to my account - then when I went to the trade in screen it told me my trade in amount was $200! YAY.

I have a question. I just upgraded last Friday (September 5). I read that there is a 14 day return policy minus a restocking fee. Would I be able to return my iPhone 5s and purchase the iphone 6 next Friday?

Mostly correct. You have 14 days to return the iphone 5s and you will be charged the $35 restock fee. You will need to wait for the return to be processed and your upgrade eligibility to be reset. I think that process takes more than a week ... Once that happens and you are once again eligible to upgrade you can upgrade to the iphone 6.

I just talked to a rep at my local store and he is stating that this is good for any existing customer regardless of upgrade status and that corporate had flip-flopped on it a few times over the last few weeks. He said it would just obviously extend your contract by another 2 years regardless of where you are at in your current contract.
But that's not at all what I'm seeing here. There appears to be no question according to the reps here that the only way to get a 16GB iPhone 6 for free is if you have an eligible trade-in AND are upgrade-eligible.
Any chance this has changed in the last day?

While my local store also said I could do a trade in on the "Edge" program, even though my contract isn't up until May 2015, I would be paying full retail price on the iPhone 6 (spread over 20 months' payments). There's no way I plan on that, even if they credit me $200 for my 4S; that still means I'd be paying approx $450 to get an iPhone 6 now.
I'm wondering if the 16gb 6 will bomb out, since for $100 more you'll be able to get a 64gb version from what I'm seeing. If that was the case, by next year perhaps they will offer the 64gb for $199, and the 16gb could be $99, or even free....time will tell.

RivergoatJr, we want you to get the best deal on a new device! Here's more details about our Edge Program http://vz.to/18hFNL6 You also have the option of waiting until May 2015 to take advantage or promotional pricing which would extend your two year agreement. http://bit.ly/zpAY1E

scubaphish Great question! In order to take advantage of the trade in you would want to visit a corporate Verizon Wireless store.

What if you are planning on using your trade in money to purchase our new iPhone and still not be phone-less? Could we do the trade in while in the store and get the card there or just move the credits to the account?

flight.paramedic We're glad you're interested in iphone trade-in? When you trade in the phone for the gift card, that card can only be used at a Verizon Wireless store. We hope this information helps.
