how can I find out EXACTLY what is using data?

I used to use under 1g of data per month.  I enabled this being a wireless router for a month then had that disabled because it ate so much space.  Now I'm over on data and I've done LESS than i did before

Keeping your data usage under control is definitely important so I completely understand your concern. Are yo trying to see how data was used on the phone or the data used while using your phone's mobile hotpsot?
