backup assistance

i got my phone turned on the other day and i downloaded backup assistance to it and then it asked for a password i didnt have it because the ones at the store set up the last backup assistance on my other phone, and now i have no contacts and when i go to back them up after i found a way to get them to backup assistance my phone is not backing them up to their, i dont even have the backup assistance button when you go to your contacts and push the menubutton its not even on their. can someone help me. its an lg ally

First, you may want to put down the Redbull, second, find the backup assistant website (I googled it with no real luck, you may have to call a store) and activate a push from there.

settings-->accounts and sync-->backup assistant. this is where you find it. there are sync settings and an option to change your pin. however, i suspect that to do this, you'll need your original pin, so i'd just go to a different store and ask for help.

Here are the steps for resetting your pin for backup assistant. 

 

Through Reinstalling Backup Assistant

  1. While in Backup Assistant, press the right soft key to choose OK.
  2. Press the # key on the keypad.
  3. Press the right soft key to choose OK.
    Pressing the # key at this point will delete all content on the website and set up the account as a new user.
  4. After receiving the PIN, make note of it then press the right soft key to choose OK.
  5. Enter the PIN code then press the right soft key to choose Restore.
    If the PIN is incorrectly entered 3 times, the account will be locked for 15 minutes.
  6. Press the right soft key to choose OK.

Through Changing PIN

  1. While in Backup Assistant, press the right soft key to choose OK.
     
  2. Press the left soft key to choose Options.
     
  3. Select Change PIN then press the center of the 5-way navigation pad.
     
  4. Enter the incorrect old PIN then press the right soft key to choose Next.
    If the PIN is incorrectly entered 3 times in a row, the account will be locked for 15 minutes.
     
  5. Enter any 4 digit number then press the right soft key to choose Next.
     
  6. Press the right soft key to choose OK.
     
  7. Press the right soft key to choose OK.
     
  8. Press #.

 If the PIN is sent to the handset and is still receiving an "Invalid PIN" error, the account may be locked. If the PIN is still failing after waiting 15 minutes, submit a trouble ticket to the NRB to have the PIN reset.
