Activate advanced calling...it makes all calls go out over LTE instead of 1xrtt. Since the Turbo only has one radio(like iPhones) you need to use use LTE(a GSM standard which allows voice and data) to have data while on a call.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

The update should've allowed you to start doing so. I had to call in for mine though

Other phones do have 2 radios and you can call via 1xrtt and use 4G data at the same time. Apparently Apple and Motorola didn't think this feature was important enough to have.

Verizon, Motorola and Apple needs to make this very clear with each phone they sell. Not just in a FAQ section on web pages and there may be fewer questions and posts from customers.

Or people could ask all of the questions before buying and aggreeing to 2 years with that phone....They would be less annoyed later...

Older phones were that way. and Samsung phones. Sony, HTC, Motorola and Apple have been using this as a cost cutting method since advanced calling allows use of voice and data at the same time.

The problem is Advanced Calling is only on 8 devices and only works with Verizon. So basically yes, if you are calling Verizon customer who also has one of these 8 devices and also has Advanced Calling enabled and you both are in a 4G area then sure you can call and use data at the same time. That seems like a very limited set of circumstances.
