Why Are Help Messages Being Sent When I Am Not Triggering Them?

I set up the "Send Help Messages" Feature under Safety Assistance on my Samsung Galaxy S5 in late April. On May 15, this feature was triggered and began sending out help messages. I though I somehow accidentally triggered it. Until it happened May 16 in the afternoon and then again that evening. I don't think it's likely I accidentally triggered this 3 times in 2 days.

I've searched online and haven't seen others report this issue as a problem with the phone or as a possible security threat/virus. +I have TrendMicro Mobile Security so it's not likely that it's a virus although you never know.

Any ideas as to why this could have happened? I've turned off the service for now to prevent my family from having heart attacks.

Oh boy! We don't want to alarm the family. It is hard to say what may have triggered the messages. Normally we recommend placing the phone in safe mode with the feature enabled to see if there may be an app that is causing this. http://vz.to/1mFGTH4

This happened to me today. Scared my family. I too have turned off until it can be fixed.

cyj777,

That certainly would be alarming! I'd suggest testing in safe mode to see if it will function properly without any 3rd party applications running; http://vz.to/1mFGTH4. Let us know if you need any further assistance.
