Lbfreem,
We want to make sure you can access your voicemail with ease. Let’s make sure we get to the bottom of this issue. When did the voicemail option change from visual voicemail to just dialing in to retrieve the voicemail messages? Is your phone software up to date? To check, please go to Settings --- System Updates.

And I am the original poster and still have never heard anything back. My mom still has to dial in to her voicemail.

I checked the list of eligible phones on the Verizon website and it said
the new Moto X phones were eligible so I thought I was ok. When it didn't
work, I went to my account on the Verizon website to see what I could
learn. On another page it indicates that my phone is not eligible for
visual voicemail. This seemed odd since it allowed me to sign up for it.
I'd still very much like to have it, but I suspect it's not an option for
my Moto X Pure Edition. Please correct me if I am able to have this
feature. I'll check on the update you suggested, but I'm almost sure I
did the update not to long ago.
Thanks.
