Gerio in red letters made my day.

The dual core argument is going to fall into the bootloader and gingerbread categories for me. Don't care.

I don't play games on my phone. I don't think dual core would be a deal breaker. 4-freeking-G......YES.

I'd take a 1/16 core if I had 4G because I've seen the difference (friend who has Thunderbolt) and THAT is what is important, NOT the processor (my HP with a PIII from 1998 still gets what I need done).

But here is an interesting poll:

And, unfortunately, AT&T is trying to buy T-Mobile. I wouldn't use AT&T for land line or cell phone. Don't know what will happen to T-Mobile, which was fairly decent, once AT&T sinks their teeth into it. That leaves Sprint, which has improved tremendously in the past year.

I have said it before and will say it again.  I really feel for the customers of T-Mobile (or AT&T) that end up in a "Trust Market" like what I have been and am dealing with.  The only hope is they end up on a carrier that treats them right.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ever thought that the other companies that aren't pitching the iphone are making a better pitch (money) to phone manufacturers for the "latest and greatest" so they can complete against Verizon?

No doubt Verizon is comfortable the way things are if they are indeed as you (the OP) says they are.

Verizon has the best "4G" network, the iphone/pad and the Moto Droid series of phones.

Manufacturers will have to come to them and push their phones, NOT the other way around.

I was never offended you asked sez who you??? I was only saying no not me the facts state from what I read that VZW seems to be getting the technically lesser of the phones from other carriers and I responded with the facts. I never said they were lousy I only stated for people like me where specs on a device are important. That it seems like VZW maybe forgetting those customers. I was also venting in frustration as to I would like to be able to upgrade my phone to a device that is worth paying that much money but since VZW keeps putting out these IMO lesser devices I can't. Unlike the other carriers. Also I was letting people who do care about specs from my research know that this is what you have to look forward to until verizon announces a device that can compete with the likes of at&t,sprint, or T-mo and their devices they have coming to their networks. I just feel that I personally myself do not want to have a droid incredible for 3 years in a row waiting on VZW to catch up to the other carriers. I:E In last place as usual.

This is how they were before and it seems nothing has changed as far as devices go. You also mentioned the best network so far I have no complaints with the network it's been great. I also don't want to sign a 2 year contract to be stuck with a phone that I really didn't want bcoz VZW has nothing that I'm looking for.  I've had nothing but a pleasurable experience with the Verizon Company except for this. I'm frustrated that now I may have to wait or switch to another carrier to get a Device that suits me. And just bcoz you or any else doesn't understand doesn't have to.That is what makes everyone different. You may like a great network or customer service. I like really sick devices with the best tech and a great network. This is why I am frustrated. I don't want to have to wait or switch to another carrier bcoz of the lack of a device that suits me.

I wasn't reading this stuff from forums by the way but from the websites who report all the news on these devices. The Bionic/Targa was a rumor but from what I have read lately it has received more credibility to it now. But even so the Bionic was at first something I was looking forward to until I seen the specs of the Atrix and the other carriers devices. Again Verizon got a lesser version of a device that At&t received. So for someone like me VZW has nothing in the phone department in the near future. So it's frustrating to want to be able to upgrade but can't unless I cancel my contract with VZW which I prefer NOT to do bcoz of their network. But I also don't want to be stuck with my incredible for god knows how long.

BTW the link was a help. I hadn't checked out the news in a couple of days so I haven't had a chance to catch up on the new info. So thanks for that again I was never offended at your response. I was only giving my opinion as to someone like me where the spcs matter. The one thing though I wish they would have keeped the design of the Bionic instead of the Targa. I'm just not a fan of it's design. Looks a lot like the older Iphone to me.

Ya know, can't really disagree with anything here (i know, gasp, shock, LOL).

Especially with 2 points you make. First, I'm not happy AT ALL over the news of the 1-year contracts going away. I had just decided that paying a little more for the phone would be worth being able to stay in a newer phone. Does it shock you to learn that I've had my Droid X for 10 months now, the longest I've ever kept a phone?  And I was under contract at the time, so I had to pay FULL PRICE for my X. But at the time, it was worth it, and I still love this phone. And I foresee the X being just fine for a long time to come, which I've NEVER said about any other phone.

I was loving the idea of the Bionic, which brings me to the second point I agree with. Even though we won't have 4G where I live for possibly another year or more, the  Bionic's specs were exciting to see. Now, with this latest news, I guess it's back to "wait and see", so thankfully, I still have my beloved (seriously) Droid X to keep me going. The Droid X2 looks intriguing, but with no front-facing camera, and not being a major upgrade, I'm not that worked up about the X2. I have't seen this "Targa" thing, I'll have to check into that when I peruse my list of geekboy sites today.

I realize that my responses may have indicated that I'm not interested in latest, greatest, I have a practical interest in the new stuff. I just didn't see the need to rag on Verizon over what you see as the lack of latest, greatest phones, but I do understand your feelings after all (and that last response, well, I try to keep that guy on a leash, but what can I say, he finds that red font key and it's Katy bar the door!...:smileyvery-happy:) I had to come back and edit in the fact that before I had Verizon, I had AT&T and the various iPhones and the service at the end had gotten SO BAD that I was desperate for reliable phone service. In November of 2009, I moved to Verizon and the service has been sooo much better. Even this much farther down the road, my friends on AT&T still deal with a few dropped calls and the inability to connect when they should. Not nearly as bad as it used to be, but come on, how bad does it have to get, ya know?

Anyway, DJKoz, all in all,  you have been a good sport and I appreciate you playing along.

Take care,

Geri O
