Verizon and Xoom

I want a Xoom so bad I can taste it but the release date is quickly approaching and I can't find anything on Verizon's website about it! What is the deal? Has Verizon released any information at all? Price/plans/etc...?

The official announcement with pricing usually only comes one or two days before it is available in stores. Sometimes they will announce them sooner for a pre-sale.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

yeah...i've always felt like verizon doesn't do a very good job at launching products. look at the other thread on the xoom. there's a link. looks like the 3g capable will be $800 and the wifi only xoom will be $600

$200 for the priviledge of paying big red's rates for slow 3g internet? Man, where can I sign up? LOL.

Seriously though, there is no way adding a CDMA radio chip costs $200, I doubt Qualcomm charges even $40 for the CDMA chipset, let alone $200. Talk about price gouging!

Very little information has been "offically" release, but you can sign up on the VZW Xoom site to get "notification" when it becomes available at http://phones.verizonwireless.com/xoom/

why would anyone buy a Xoom now when the 4G upgrade is due soon & to upgrade you have to be without your Xoom for six days?

i wouldn't.....but then again, i wouldn't have bought it a month ago either knowing this, if i was actually going to use verizon's network. but if you are only going to use it via wifi, and are not going to get a data plan for it, then there's no need to upgrade the 4g so some people will still get it now.
