Using HTC widgets without running sense

Is it possible to use the HTC widgets on the Eris without running sense?  If I use home switcher to run the stock android interface on the Eris, I am unable to use any of the HTC widgets, you just can't add them.  I prefer the look of the stock Android home interface, but I stil want to use the nice HTC Sense widgets.  Does anyone know how to do this?

There is a way to get the direct widgets from Sense UI and have them ported on to your Android device. Now, the way about going about them, I can't speak about on these forums.

Regardless, you have a lot of alternatives that can bring you more or less the same experience;

  • Beautiful Widgets from LevelUpStudio's has a messaging and Clock Dock widget.
  • I know that there are other Hero Clocks that can simulate the real HTC clocks really, really well.
  • Twidroid offers a good widget that's not quite the same as HTC's fabulous Peep widget, but it works.

If you could let me know in an e-mail or private message that would be awesome.  Perhaps I forgot to mention that I already own an Eris.  I don't want to put HTC Sense widgets onto a Motorola or the Nexus or anything.  I already have the Eris, I just want to be able to put the Sense widgets on the home screens when I'm using the stock home android interface.  HTC Sense is still installed, it's just disabled.

I don't want to use 3rd party widgets that sort of look like Sense widgets when I already own a Sense phone.  That just seems kind of silly.  The widgets are already there, it just won't let me get to them in the stock home interface.
