Unable to sync calendar to new Galaxy S5 from Galaxy Relay (SCH-699)

I have depleted both batteries (new phone and old) trying to retrieve my calendar events from my old Samsung SCH-T699 to my Galaxy S 5!

Samsung told me to download/install Smart Switch, but my old phone is "not compatible" with it. HELP!!!

Are you on WiFi for this switch?  When exactly do you get that error message?

Yes, I am on Wi-Fi. No error message. After stepping through the start-up

all I get is "Pair Devices" button. That goes away, and both devices "try"

to sync, without success.
