Last week, my droid razr suddenly lost 4g data speed. I thought perhaps it was due to storms etc. That was Tuesday. A week later and I still only get 3g on my phone. Last night, I hijacked my wife's Galaxy Nexus to see if it was an overall network issue but her 4g is working just fine and dandy. Is there anything I can check before I walk into a store to have the staff help me (not expecting they will be able to help to be honest). I've tried setting Network to use both Global and LTE/CDMA. I've done hard resets. When I check Network strength all I have is 3g and 1g available.
On the flip side, my battery life has been awesome. But I paid for a 4g phone so as much as Verizon is trying to nickel and dime me, I want full use of what I pay for.

Verizon does not throttle 4G data and they have no way to prevent individual phones from accessing certain networks (aside from disconnecting service altogether). Your SIM may have gone bad, as the phone needs this to access the 4G network. Make sure it is seated properly and, if you still cannot connect to the 4G network, ask for a new SIM card. As long as you go into a corporate store, it will be free of charge.

The last couple of weeks I've been noticing that I seem to have 3G as often as 4G at home, where I had been getting a fairly reliable 4G connection (though it would drop out once a day or so). I'm going to keep an eye on it, and if I keep seeing 3G as much as or more than 4G, I may try the SIM card replacement. Thanks, demmo!
