Silly-basic, question

Hi, I'm about to leave my old carrier and go to Verizon, the new shared plan actually is better for my family, and my old carrier had terrible coverage.  I'm really undecided about getting the Razr Maxx or the new Samsung SIII.  Any comments, snarky or otherwise are much appreciated.

You're in a RAZR forum, so probably a lot here will side with the MAXX.  The MAXX is an incredible phone - it smokes ... IMHO you should go to a Verizon store and play with both of them side by side ... I don't personally know the Samsung III ... but a friend got the Galaxy Nexus right when it came out and I like the MAXX over that one .. but again, just personal preference... Are there specs that more appeal to you on the Samsung over the Maxx ??? The only downside of the MAXX that I know of is the battery is NOT removable. But we'll all deal with that when the time comes. Right now it has the best battery life of the set of devices -- and ICS only makes it better.

I agree with old Cody here we both had the Droid X's i still got my X but she's taking it easy after a good 2 year work out. I got my First Maxx just before my Birthday in Feb. And i picked up my Second one Just about week ago. The reason i went with the Second one was the Trust of the First one and how it performs. And what i can do with either Unit it's a Multi Tasker in every way that you want it to be.

Watch HD Movies, put it in a Dock for a Bedside clock, Put it in the HD station an take your Wireless Mouse an Keyboard that you would use on your Home computer and take there Wireless adapters plug into the Station and it will work as a Mini Computer Hook the The HDMI Cord to your HD Tv an you got the Internet on your Tv i have done this before it's amazing.. And Motorola offers a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse for the Unit as Well as Laptop Dock. But the only other Phone i have had other than my Moto's is HTC it was the Incredible and on the 5th of July i think there re-leasing the Incredible HD 4G. As for Samsungs they have pretty screens but i tend to stay a way but that's just me. b33

  You have 14 days to change your mind when you do make your decision... Just remember that the Galaxy SIII is not out yet, it should be released on or around July 9th. I am not sure if it is in the Verizon stores or not..

  It comes down to the features that you want in the phone...

I saw a Google+ from Vic Gundotra about his new SIII and after NEARLY 14 hours use he was down to 26%. After 16 hours yesterday - Bluetooth headset, wifi running, hourly e-mail checks, checking news, checking in on Google+ and a a few phone calls - I still showed 40%.

I was in "comes and goes" 4g area (home).

The SIII does look nice but it looks a little large in my opinion and that comes from a RazrMaxx user.

The size is one of the drawbacks of the phone, imho, and also the fact we don't know how it will perform and all the bugs the S3 may have when released. I swear they make these phones larger and larger as time goes on. To me it's a drawback if it's a two handed phone. I already have a tablet, that is what these new phones with their huge size are turning out to be-another tablet. It took some time when I got the Maxx to get used to it's size, now I don't even think about it. On the other hand I much prefer Samsung Touchwiz over the Motorola skin on the phone. The battery life is incredible, you may not see that (and probably won't) on the S3

Every phone has good points and bad points. My gripe with Samsung is that their cases feel so cheap. The Razr Maxx has a good, solid feeling touch. My battery, with moderate usage, lasts about a day and a half. A very good selling point for any Droid phone. It's an easy phone to learn, the learning curve isn't steep. As a phone, calls are clear and crisp, even when using the speaker phone. Downloading, using 4G, is eye-blinking fast. With wifi, it's a lot slower, but then again, you are not using data. What will happen when the Razr finally gets ICS is anyone's guess. From what I have read, it sounds all positive. As suggested, go to a Verizon store, or any store which sells cells phones, such as Walmart, and handle the phones you are interested in. Good luck.

I like my Maxx, especially the battery, I'm afraid when the Razr Hd comes out I'm gonna wish I had that HD screen.

it's not a silly question and please..please!!! read the responses u get very carefully..if their answers sound to good to be true...they are!!! i got a razr maxx about 4 weeks ago and for the first 3 weeks, it worked very well. then the speaker went on it and being that it was past the 2 week return period, they sent me a reconditioned one!!! because i needed it asap, they sent it overnight and charged me 12.99 plus tax!!! to get it. so far, so good with the reconditioned one. good luck making a choice...
