Samsung Stratosphere won't turn on! Urgent!

My phone will not stop flashing the Samsung logo. It has been doing this for about 12 hours. It worked normally this morning and started acting up while I was in class. It will not go past the logo and when I plug it in it flashes the battery. It's doing exactly the same as this guy's video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjcx4VM6slE . The phone is about a year old. I tried holding down the volume down button to restart but that did nothing. I took the battery out for about three hours and it still won't work. Please help me, I cannot easily get to a Verizon store from my college campus and I must have my phone for work. Is there anyway to fix this without losing all my information?

Is there a cell phone repair shop that would be easier to get to than a Verizon store? I recently had a good experience getting a water-damaged phone fixed that way. If you haven't called Verizon support, you definitely should. Some folks have bad experiences with them, some have good, but it's at least worth a try. I did get good advice from them the last time I called them.

I fear there may be a factory reset in your future, but don't do that until someone from VZW advises you to.

Take out the battery and the Sims card and wait a few minutes and then put them back in and see if it works then.  Mine quit today but was just frozen and I just cut it off and back on and then went through the airplane mode and it reset it.  I found that suggestion in another blog.  Good luck..

Mine started doing the same thing today.  It's just over a year old.  Very frustrating!  Adam I am going to send you a message, also.

Hi Adam!  My stratosphere started acting up today.  First, it shut down.  It still had at least 50% charge left on the battery but I hooked it up to charge anyway.  When I tried to turn it on, it just started running through the "on" logo sequence repeatedly.  I've removed the battery more than once to no avail.  Any suggestions?  Thanks, Renee

mine started doing the same thing about a week ago. i tried taking out the sim card and i have 2 batteries. i have tried both batteries originally thinking the one of the batteries was dead. i have tried holding the power button also.  my dad has also tried trying to get the phone to start up again.someone please help. my contract isnt up for a while and i dont know what to do):

Oh my! I can certainly understand your frustration with your device not working properly. Let's get this fixed. Based on the troubleshooting that you have completed thus far. I am going to recommend an Alternate Hard Reset http://vz.to/A8ykLa ,  start at step #3. Keep me posted.
