Hi:

My phone just updated last night to the new Jelly Bean and it was working fine all day, until I tried playing some games on it tonight. I now have the dreaded blue screen of death. HELP! Tomorrow is Easter and I need my cell phone...I tried shutting it down, nothing...tried plugging it in, nothing..AGHHH. I just got this phone last month and it is DEAD!! Can someone please help me get it to work again?

Thank you.

I'm having the same problem after I updated to Jellybean on my own Stratosphere II. Twice I've had it happen. I had to take out the battery and put it back in to get my phone to work again.

Oh no starryeyed! Let's get your phone working like normal. Please try booting your phone into safe mode to see if one of the games may be causing an issue with the new software http://vz.to/14KzK0G. If no change, please try the alternate hard reset here http://vz.to/11gzrYo. If the phone is still not working after those steps, we'll need to review replacement options. Please follow me and send me a direct message if you still need assistance.

Hi

I cannot hard reset nor power down. I have the blue screen of death and it will not clear. This is the second time it happened! The first time, the battery died and when I plugged it in, it came back up overnight.

Please help! This is my only phone that I can make calls on.

Thank you

Irene

This just happened to me (on my Stratosphere II). I took out the battery and placed it back in and it resumed working.

My phone has been acting very sluggish and glitchy after the Jelly Bean update a few weeks ago, just pointing that out!

It seems Samsung hasn't figured out how to do a system update and not totally screw up the phone.  I have the original Strat.  It worked well until a major system update last summer.  The phone hasn't performed right since the update.  I am one of many, many people affected by this update.  I did hard resets, replaced batteries, etc. and the phone is still not right.  I'm due for an upgrade in July, and can't wait to get rid of this phone.

Blue screen. Removing battery doesn't help. My phone is less than a month old, and it was fully charged.

Hi droiddread,

Let's look into this! You mentioned that removing the battery didn't help! Please clarify, did another method help or are you still experiencing the issue? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

No. Spent an hour on chat with Verizon support, and visited a Verizon store on Saturday. They would not help me because I am not the person whose name is on the account. It is a business account!  Verizon was happy to sell me a defective phone without making me jump through hoops. Time for another class action lawsuit, methinks.

Same thing happened to me, mostly when I try to address Wi-fi settings.  As others discovered, the only thing to do is remove the battery and re-install it.

@ MarquiaF_VZW:  Your suggestion of a hard reset is not good, as when this BSoD happens, no button on the phone responds.  And a hard reset destroys all the data.

Thanx anyway,

Jeff
