What are you people talking about?  This is MY thread about the need for a new phone with a removable battery and headphone jack.  Anything without those is a brick.

Having issues with your device is not a fun ordeal, and neither is losing your contacts when doing a factory reset. The great thing is that we offer solutions to avoid issues with viruses and data loss. Please keep in mind that we offer Verizon Protect, which will help protect your device against security threats like viruses: https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/device-protection/ In order to back up your contacts and media you can use our Verizon Cloud application: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-cloud-faqs/

Now that we have that covered, we would love to proceed with some troubleshooting steps on your device. How does that sound?

Verizon does not make phones.   Complain to the manufacturers.    The only phones with removable batteries are the few budget priced prepaid phones.  (Moto e5 go and flip phones for example)
Flagship devices are sealed.

I disagree that a sealed back phone is a brick.  Batteries can be replaced, just not by the average user.    In fact the new insurance programs have unlimited battery replacements included.

While I choose not to keep phones very long, other members of my family have had    sealed back phones that work just fine for three or four years.

Omg.  The phones are bricks because they do me no good.  What can I do without a removable battery walking around disney World all day?  Or a port in a foreign country?

I never said they wouldnt last for years.  But they wont do me any good.  I pull batteries often when my phone screws up.  And this happens often.  And just one battery won't last a day.

My LG V20 would be fine if it hadn't updated itself to becoming too slow and too many errors.

As I said before, LG V20 is last Flagship Phone with a removable battery, due to that feature not being profitable for phone manufacturers.....While I won't go as far as you, and call any phone without a removable battery a Brick...I do understand your issue..

Not sure why ignoring updates, is such a big deal for you; I've been doing it for years, with no problem.  Whenever I see the popup notification for a software update: I simply ignore it.  But if that doesn't work for you, you can go to the Google Playstore and download "Notification Blocker".  This app will block any notification you choose, from poping up on your phone .....See attached Link Above..

Dear mama23dogs: Udates are not always a supposed Good Thing.  Do you remember the Iphone Scandle of 2017?...Which involved Apple manipulating their software updates which caused the batteries on older iPhones to charge slowly.  This tactic caused iphone users to become frustrated with slow charging of their older iphones and made them buy newer iPhones.  See attached Link for info..

I haven't used any of the older model LG phones.  But I can tell you that the V20 (released in 2016) is an AMAZING Phone and is comparable to current phones on the market today.  The Samsung Galaxy Fold and The LG G8X Thin-Q are only current phones that I would consider trading in my V20 for...Since I wasn't paying $2000 for a Galaxy Fold, i opted to buy The G8X Thin-Q on sale for $700

I still don't really understand your issue with LG Phones...But you previously stated that you've owned every model of Google Pixel Phone...Just letting you know that the Google Pixel 2XL was designed and created by LG.  Google is software manufacturer and doesn't design their own phones.

I can see that you like The Pixel and One Plus Phones, but in my opinion...Any android phone that doesnt have expandle storage is Utterly USELESS!!  If I wanted a phone without expandable storage, then I'd buy an IPhone.  Now you and others my argue that you can still store you info in the cloud.  But what if you're in a Dead Zone and have no cellular service or Internet; how do you get access to the cloud?!?  Theyre also security concerns with the cloud.  What if there's a Data Breach and your personal photos and documents get leaked to the Internet.  If you had a phone with expandable storage, you personal info would be saved on an SD Card; therefore avoiding the issues I stated.

As I stated earlier, this my personal opinion on The Pixel and One Plus Phones...If my concerns aren't an issue for you....Then, feel free to continue buying those phone...

We sincerely understand your concerns and your desire to have removable batteries, alandlord. While we do not manufacture any phones, we would like to explore options to improve your wireless experience. We have a full line of portable batteries/power stations that you can charge and carry with you to recharge your phone when it needs to be recharged, please visit this link (https://www.verizonwireless.com/products/batteries/) to review all the available options.

You mentioned that your LG V20 is too slow and has many errors after the latest software update. Or resources indicate that a factory reset as per this link (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-207866/) will resolve any post software update issues. Please give it a try and keep us posted.
