My droid screen just broke. I've always used verizon messages for texts. I downloaded the app for my iPad to use until I get the replacement phone. How do I activate the app by text, when the phone won't even turn on?? I can read texts online but the one sent for activatin it hasn't gone through.
You can get an adapter to connect your phone to an HDMI cable and use a TV as your screen. I can't help you as to which adapter you'd need as you didn't list which DROID phone you have.
And these two "helpful" posts confirm why there should a certification process before people should be allowed to post "helpful comments".
Like your comment was helpful. Certification process...at least we offered some suggestions.
If the screen broke, there should be no reason why the phone wouldn't continue to operate and using an MHL adapter is a great way to use the phone to get whatever you need from it before sending it for repair or junking it. Does this person know for sure the phone won't come on or they just assume it's not on because there is nothing on the screen?
No friends on Verizon? Borrow their phone, activate it on your line, get the text message. Remove SIM and give phone back to friend...DONE!
phone is a droid turbo. No sim card that can be removed and hdmi is not possible on this phone. the phone just resets constantly
Your best bet would be to get an older phone and activate it on your line. I know I have 2 or 3 sitting in drawers collecting dust. Someone you know must have an old Verizon phone you can borrow to activate and get the text message.
I don't use Verizon messages but I though you could log into the Verizon website and read every text message that gets sent to your number.
The Droid Turbo's SIM card tray is located behind the volume buttons, i.e.:
And as noted earlier ... if you can't receive the activation text for the app, why not just read/send texts using Verizon Messages via the My Verizon web site. Log into your My Verizon account, then at the top hover over My Verizon, then My Device, then click on Send and Manage Messages.
thanks for the tip with the SIM card. I am using the online version, but as mentioned, i want to activate the app and the only way is with the text message. it will not send to the online message program (must be for security reasons) so Im looking for a way around. I can't haul around a computer with me everywhere I go which is why I'm trying to activate the app on my tablet.
