I'm not in your area (I'm in AL) but I'm having the same problem with mine.  It started about a month ago and seems to be getting worse in the last few weeks.  I'm in the same area, using the same phone, that I did 2 months ago... and 2 months ago I had great reception, no dropped calls, and very stable phone service.  Now... I have little to no reception or service, dropped (or missed) calls, and very unhappy.

Please access Settings > About Phone. Which Android version is installed?

For me... the Android version is 4.4.2.  There was a Kernel update on April 28, 2014 to version 3.4.0 and a software update on May 16, 2014 to update_SM-N900V_MJE_to_NC4

Android KitKat 4.4.2 has been known to have worse signal than previous Android versions. It's not only Motorola devices, but for every device with 4.4.2.

There is no current fix. However, you can contact Google directly and express your concerns.

Can you uninstall KitKat?  Any way to make it go away, like it never happened????

You can, but the process isn't supported by Verizon. Verizon states that the process will void your warranty, but it's because they don't want to replace your phone as it loses them money. However, they don't tell you that you can deal with Samsung directly, who will most likely assist you better than Verizon ever would.

It's called 'rooting', and you can find bundles of information by a simple Google search.

Thank you for the reply.  I'm not savvy enough to do the root thing... but may look into contacting Samsung and see what they offer.  Honestly, right now most of the time this phone is now acting like a brick instead of a phone.  Not a happy customer!

Have you tried backing up your information and performing a hard reset?

@LouK,

Let's get to the bottom of this! How long has this been going on? Please provide your zip code so I can check the coverage. Try removing the sim card for a minute, insert and retest. Keep us posted if you need further assistance.
