I recently bought a Samsung Stratosphere.  When they backed up my contacts they also backed up some old photos that I had from years ago.  They are not on the memory card, how can I delete them forever?

They are probably on the internal storage area. Generally there will be a picture folder of some sort on it. A way to delete them would be to go into the  Gallery app that you use to see photos, and you should be able to delete them from that.

Thanks but that's not it.  I removed the memory card from the phone and they are still visible in the gallery.  I paired with my PC and they are not in the DCIM or gallery folders.  Any other places I can look?  I check in my on-line back up folder and they're not there either!

Like I said, they are somewhere on your internal memory card. You said you can view them in your Gallery app, just long click on the picture, and you should be able to delete it/them.

Droid Usrr,

Thanks for your help but I've tried the normal ways to remove

them. If I show the pull up photo on the phone, the only options I have

is to see the details or share it. I've deleted other photos that I

have taken with the camera with no issues. These particular photos

appeared after the contacts were backed up. I went on line and looked

at my backup page and the photos are not there. I restored my phone to

factory settings and they were gone. The next day they were back.

Thanks again

Are they associated with your contacts?  You may just need to replace the contact photos.  Otherwise, they may have gotten transferred to your SIM (I'm assuming you had Verizon move the contacts for you?).  Also, have you tried accessing your SD card or internal memory via computer?

If you can see the details, you could get 1 of the file names, and if you can connect your phone to your computer and have it mounted as a drive, you could search for the filename on the phone. Once you find the 1, you will see them all. You COULD probably delete them at that point.
