Ok. First smartphone. Yep, first. Samsung S4. My son and wife have S3's and I also have Apple ipad. Wifi download speeds on all but S4 are 40 Mbits. S4 is 4 Mbits. I've tried EVERYTHING to fix. Has Verizon or Samsung fixed this?

I've tried EVERYTHING on the Internet to fix. Has Verizon or Samsung addressed this Problem? I see where a large amount of people have had this issue and am hoping there's a fix.

Try deleting your current Wi-fi connection, reboot your S4 and reset your wi-fi connection to your router. Also if you can go into router settings and recheck all settings that may help. The 2.4 GHz band will give you a good signal at a nice speed. You should already be doing better than 40 on all phones if your signal is strong and router ok.

Do you have a Dual Band router (2.4/5GHz)? Is it your personal router, or owned by the cable company (Brighthouse, Comcast, etc)

Thanks GoogleGlass3.

It's a Comcastic "gateway"  TC8305C. It only offers 2.4 Ghz. I'm paying for Comcast "Boost" stated to be 105 Mbits. I get a little more than that on hard wired Ethernet. But all wifi connections are around the stated 40 Mbits. I complained. They said that was normal And that if I did not have Boost, it would be even lower on Wifi. Frustration?? That's a whole other can of worms. "COMCASTIC"

Checked signal and showing 90% or -86dBm. I'll keep trying With your suggestions. I do appreciate your time.

I have "COMCASTIC" Blast service and it stinks. I'm running 75-85 Mbits and for what I pay for this so called high speed service. My S5 will do good on 2.4 but very poor at 5 Ghz. Also a complete soft reset of S4 may work for you as I had to go this route for my S5.
