New every Two , how was this not a complete Scam?

So I sign up for a 2 year contract.. I sign under an unlimited data plan and " NEW EVERY TWO"  Plan...

During that time I pay my bills , fulfil my contract and even step up from time to time to DEFEND Verizon when people bad talk them.

NOW it is 2 years later, their NEW EVERY TWO doesn't exist, they have the same $50.00 discount they say I have " EARNED "offered to ANYONE!

$50.00 isn't a NEW ANYTHING!

They are doing away with my plan BY FORCE!

EXACTLY WHAT did I get for my loyalty to this company??  Exactly WHAT were they offering me when I signed up in good faith 2 years ago?

Someone needs to tell me before I write this up in an article and blast it to every consumer blog on the internet.  I'm a Geek, I can do that.

It is STAGGERING how many people responded to this comment that are either totally clueless or work for Verizon.

The whole point is A CONTRACT WAS SIGNED THEN ALTERED so the comapny did not have to deliver what it promised at the time of the original deal.

That INCLUDES doing away with

What should you expect from some people who hang out in a phone forum just to be snarky... Sort of feel sorry for you.  To the rest who EXPLAINED this thank you..

I will never sign a long contract again.. from now on I buy my phones outright and go where I want to.

I can't believe a person actually said " Its been gone for a year and a Half LOL...  Last I checked 2 years ago is BEFORE a year and a half.  So I guess if I sign a 5 year deal with someone they can change it 6 months later and say it has been gone 4 and 1/2 years so the deal is off?  LOL

The New Every Two program wasn't a scam. It is however NOW retired and longer offered.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

When NE2 originally started, it was a bigger discount (up to $100 for some plans), and phones were a lot cheaper.  That amount was reduced to $50, but the name was never changed.  The plan has (as Ann154 said) now been cancelled.  They aren't doing away with your plan by force, if you have a NE2 discount, you still get it, but you will not be able to get that plan again.

If he/she is eligible for an upgrade now, I'd think they could still keep their plan + unlimited data assuming they upgrade before the changes go into effect.  As for the NE2, it was a loyalty discount for existing customers on top of the traditional 2 yr contract price.  The primary line on a family plan or single line plan under $79.99 got $50 off and those above got $100. It was then reduced to $30/$50 in Feb 2009 and eventually removed completely in Jan 2011 (just before the iPhone 4 launch).  Anyone who was eligible and upgraded prior to the change still had 1 more to use which must be used within 6 months of eligibility.

And lol with the blog.  Verizon has been trashed every way imaginable and changes are still being made.

Which, BTW, cost about 1,000 bucks. Wow. 15 years from now, will Android phones cost less than a cup of coffee?

You got 2 years of excellent cell phone service on the best network available and you got a new susbidized cell phone.  You weren't "loyal" to anything.  You signed a 2 year contract, made your payments, and got what your paid for.

Yeah, I wouldn't complain all over the Internet about something that's been gone for a year and a half.

The New Every Two program was never a part of your contract. Besides when you purchase the next discounted phone, you are signing a new contract with new terms.
