Nice looking unit:

Keyboard looks great!  Wish it was more like the TouchPro 2

Wow, Motorola makes some seriously ugly phones.

The design is definitly reminiscent of the Sidekick series. Bad thing about the phone, is that it has the same processor as the Pixi. And, it's running MotoBLUR, which I'm not entirely too fond of.

I was playing with one of these today at Wal-Mart. I thought it was cool, so I ran over to the Verizon store to check one out there. I couldn't find it anywhere so I asked the sales guy where they were and he said they don't release until tomorrow. I told him I just saw one and he said "It's illegal to sell them early." To which I replied, "I don't care, I'm not selling it, I'd be buying it." He didn't much care for the response. :smileyhappy:

At any rate, the point of this post was just to say that it seems like a pretty cool handset. I don't think I'll be picking one up, but I could see it being a pretty good seller for Verizon. I definitely want to check one out at the store when they're "legal", which is tomorrow apparently.

I don't post here much, just read posts...deciding on my next phone this summer....

Best Buy has the Devour in their weekly ad for $99.00 new or upgrade...no mention that they can't sell till tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing Steve. Yep they are a bit on the masculine side - but I prettied mine up with a "Merlot" case :smileywink:

and Diggity?

LOL - Love it how this word is thrown around. Hmmm. So does this mean that the phone police are involved in the caper? Imagine calling the police about this type of illegal activity - think it is good time spent of our tax paying dollars? Ha!

I am sure that there is some truth in this, but more regulatory or corporate agreements I would think. Unless someone sheds some light on this and I am totally poking fun at this for no reason. Just funny how term illegal is used and interpreted.

It was pretty funny. He took himself very seriously and wasn't thrilled that I didn't find it to be nearly as important of an issue as he did. He definitely didn't like my response to him, that much was very obvious; but honestly, why in the world would I care that it's illegal to sell them? And certainly, his threatening tone of voice towards me made it that much easier to poke fun at him. :smileyhappy: Good times at the Verizon store...

I got my hands on a Devour today, but it wasn't a working unit because it was in Wally World, where all the kids play with the phones. Anyway, I like how it looks and feels, and the keyboard seems much better than the Droid's. I'm just disappointed in the specs ... why have a 3.2mp camera with no flash? I did read somewhere that a user was able to use voice-activated dialing with Bluetooth though, so that's a plus.

I've found it interesting that it still hasn't shown up on VZW's site yet. I haven't been back to the store to look, is it for sale there? Anyone know? Seen one?

I've wondered this too, why it's not on the site. I've seen it on display at WM, and it was in BB's Sunday flyer. I have to go to a Verizon corp store today to buy something, so I'll look for the Devour and report back.

From the one I picked up, it seemed like a solid little device. Extruded metal, which is different. It wasn't slippery like most phones, but more of a matte aluminum feel.

In reading various reviews and forums, I get the impression this phone might be for a younger demographic, one very into social networking, which is not me.
