Message+ Icon on main screen does not indicate unread messages

Hello

The Message+ Red Icon on the main screen does not indicate unread messages.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app 3 times and it still will not show unread messages.

It will show the balloon on the top display that I have a text.

It vibrates and makes the sounds I want.

I have gone through all the settings a number of times.

But it just will not work.

The version is 5.6.6

I have a DROID MAXX with v4.4.4 OS.

Please assist.

Thanks for poroviding us with details of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. You do have the current version of Verizon Messages. How long have you been having this issue? Any recent changes to your device?
