LG Lucid 2 Multimedia problems

I have a LG Lucid 2. I cannot send or receive multimedia messages or text pictures unless phone data plan is turned on. Even with 4G service it is very slow.  My wife and son have Iphones and they both can send/recieve multimedia messages and text pictures only using Wifi. My old phone (Pantech Crux) worked okay as well.  As anyone else had this issue?  Do I need to change a setting in my phone?

This is working as intended ... MMS send and receive on the cellular connection only, not over wifi.  The iPhones may be using an app, such as iMessage, that DOES work over wifi.  Have you tried a third party texting app to send/recieve your messages?  HandCent, Go SMS, WhatsApp or others may work better for you.
