LG G6.....Won't turn on

Anyone else seen this problem?

Husbands phone was just fine, actually at 80% pulled it out the next time and it won't even turn on.  I used my new LG G6 to look up help options and saw soft reset and hard (or whatever they call it).  Still nothing... Called Verizon and they had me do the exact same things again.....and nothing.

So now they are sending my husband a nice new RE-FURBISHED one after only using his for 19 whole days.

He is beyond upset, I mean who wants to pay $700 for a used phone?  Not him..heck we only upgraded our G2's that were almost 4yrs old because we thought the brand was good...guess we were wrong.

We are currently on vacation, he has NO phone and that is the only way his Doctors office can get a hold of him...oh and he is having heart surgery on the 24th.  Yep this is sooooo what he needed righ now 😞

Warranty replacements through Verizon Wireless are always refurbished devices. Have you considered contacting the manufacturer directly for your warranty repair options including sending the phone to them for repair.

Yes I could send it to LG, they said

"You are more than welcome to send your phone to our repair facility to have our technicians inspect it and perform any necessary repairs or have it replaced under warranty if necessary. The initial assessment, diagnosis, repair and first delivery attempt of the device going back to you would take approximately 2 weeks from the moment that you ship in your device."

What is he suppose to do in the meantime.  His Heart Surgery is on 07/24 and we don't have time for that.  Also, I have heard people have sent theirs to the Manufacturer and they will say the customer did something wrong to it, or there is water damage...corrosion and so on.  The phone still looks brand new and even still has the original plastic on the screen.

It is just sickening that after 18 days you get a reconditioned phone.

Do you have an older phone you could activate on the line instead? Borrow one from a friend or family member?

I used LG warranty directly on my G4 when it was newer and I can tell you LG is great to work with.  They will give you a prepaid mailer and gwtvit back as soon as they can.  I always keep an old phone for spare and I carry it with me when traveling just in case as I have had a phone die while on vacation.  I activated my spare when my G4 was out for repair.  Mary

I hope your husband’s heart surgery goes well, KP1978KP. I know how important it is to have a reliable device and apologize that your husband’s new phone has left him without a way to get a hold of anyone. As Ann154 and acraftylady2 mentioned, we can activate a spare phone if you happen to still have one of the G2 devices, or really any Verizon Wireless phone, available. This can be done by logging into www.verizonwireless.com/bring-your-own-device if you do have a spare. But our device replacement program described at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/device-replacement-program/ will be the quickest way to a working phone if you don’t have a spare to wait for the manufacturer to complete a repair. We created this option because we know time is of the essence to have a reliable device and not everyone has the ability to send a phone to the manufacturer for their warranty. I can understand your hesitation on accepting a Certified Like-New Replacement for a phone that you just received, but it is the usual replacement if it’s been more than 15 days since purchase. They go through extremely rigorous testing to make sure it is just as good as, if not better than, a brand new phone. I’m confident the replacement that you mentioned is on the way will be an excellent alternative to waiting for the repair.
