I do have broken lines in the notebook application.
in the contacts, I can see the search bar, but it does not respond when I attempt to use it to search contacts.

I followed the instructions in the link provided to start the phone in safe mode. Both problems persist, even in safe mode.

Digitizer is defective. Replace under warranty if warranty remains.

I've done the things suggested, and responded on my thread. I've not heard
back. What are my next steps?
when in notepad, I do have broken areas in the lines.
when in safe mode, the problems persist.

If under warranty, contact Verizon for a replacement. Your digitizer is defective.
