I have a HTC one M8 and Toshiba tablet nothing drives me more crazy than when I'm using either for ads to popup. Is there a free app which will eliminate this?

I have a HTC One M8 and a Toshiba tablet nothing drives me more crazy than having popup ads showing up when I'm using my devices. Is there a ad blocker out there for free which can be downloaded?

Chrome browser has some good popup blocking for the most part, unfortunately Android will not allow permissions needed for ad blocking apps on the official level.
