From my Droid 4, when I hold down on a text message and select "Forward message" it opens up a window that allows me to type in the new recipient. Under that recipient box, it lists 3 contacts to choose from if I don't want to type in the recipient. I'd like to change the contacts that get displayed by default. They're not favorites and not my first 3 alphabetical either so I don't know what controls them. How can I change the contacts that get displayed?
Phone is a DROID4, Android version 4.0.4, System version 6.16.217.XT894, build date July 26, 2012
Rhw80, thanks for your post and I'll be more than happy to help figure this out! I'm not showing any settings to save 3 specific contacts when forwarding SMS. The phone should allow you to select the contact from all of your contacts. Please clear the cache from your Messages. This will not delete the messages, but resets settings. Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All, Messaging, Clear cache.

Hmm, thanks for the reply, but I'm not seeing that exact menu selection-> Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All, Messaging, Clear cache. I press Settings, then I have groupings for Wireless & Networks, Device, Personal and System. Under the Device group, I have "Apps". Pressing that gives me all my apps grouped into Downloaded, Internal Storage, Running, and All. Under "All" I don't see a "Messaging" option, I do have a "Text Messaging" option and I did clear that cache but it still shows the same 3 contacts.
Again, I get this when I hold down on a text message and select "Forward message" it opens up a window that allows me to type in the new recipient but before I type in that box, directly under that recipient box, it lists 3 contacts to choose from but it's not scrollable.
I think it lists these by frequency of contact, though I could be wrong about this. If you just start inputting the name or number of the contact you would like to forward the text to, the correct ones should come up.
