How do I back off from lollipop

Since moving to Lollipop on my Galaxy S5 my battery won't last from 9am to 5pm. Prior to the update I could go from wake up until I went to bed and have plenty of battery to spare.  Beyond battery issues the phone is sluggish. I gave up on "Ok Google" but even pressing the microphone it is very slow to respond. Feel like a beta tester.

slasher016, we appreciate your efforts thus far. Do you have 3rd party applications downloaded to your device? If so, let's run your device in Safe Mode which is a diagnostic state. It will determine if an application is causing the issue. There are many 100's of posts here in the forums regarding S5 Lollipop problems along with potential ways to fix.  There is no reasonable way to go back to KitKat without "hacking" your phone.

And none of the fixes work.

When did you update your phone?

The OS will take time to optimize and learn how you use it which will create a shortage of battery as everything is running during this time.  It can take about a week or so to flatten out.  Also just saw another post about it continuing after the week or so and when Facebook was disabled or removed from the phone it went back to working normally.  It is very possible that FB has not updated their app yet to work with Lollipop
