I have seen multiple threads on this, but none of them have any real answer.
I am sending 2 copies of every text message to multiple numbers, and to both IOS and Android phones. In addition, I am periodically receiving 2 versions of texts people send me.
I have attempted the battery/Sim removal and uninstalling all other possible apps (even google hangouts) as per the previous threads.
I am using a Galaxy S5, with the stock "messages" app.
Please advise of anything I could do, as it seems to be a carrier issue at this point.

I would give it a couple more days to work it's self out. Unless it's happening with every text you send, to every person you send them to. For me it's only happening with a couple people and thankfully it's not every single text message, just every so often one repeats.

You've also deleted cache and data for your text threads and then restarted the device?
I'd back up any text message threads you may want to keep.

I had cleared the cache, but I will delete the threads and see if that does anything.
Thanks for the idea!

I'd suggest just doing the data, the same place you cleared the cache.
settings>application>application manager>all (scroll left to all)>message +
delete cache, delete data and restart.

I tried that, but people are still receiving my text's twice. I am also using the stock Samsung messages app, not message +, if that makes any difference (although I have tried other apps, which had the same issue-- and I've since removed them to rule out having multiple apps as the cause).

How long has this been going on?
It could just be a Verizon system error. In the last 24 to 48 hours I've been receiving double messages from a few different contacts; one of whom I know is on Verizon. I haven't been told I'm sending double also, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It has been within the last 48 hours, so that might be the cause if I'm not the only one.

It has been across the board, but I will try giving it some more time.
Thanks for your help!
