PS Verizon, stop editing people's comments. instead of trying to hide people's complaints, why don't you make an attempt to rectify it?

Terms are terms.  Just because they work for Verizon doesn't mean they are high enough in the know or have the power to "rectify" it.

There are two ways to add applications to the multi-window: 1) for now, an individual software developer can recompile their application the way that dandiele suggests in order to enable that application to be added, or 2) at anytime now or in the future, Verizon can work with Samsung to release a firmware update to enable any and all applications to be added, regardless of what the individual software developer does or does not do.

Check around the Internet, and you'll see that a firmware update to do this is indeed possible.

That's on Samsung to develop not Verizon. Based on the SDK given by Samsung to developers there is a specific API to use and the way they set it up. The modification is made to the framework to enable all which bypass that API call. If you want them all enabled your best bet would be to send enhancement requests to Samsung if you don't want to void your warranty.

Any more info on this. I waited out to get off contract with ATT to go to Verizon and wanted the Note 2. Now am seeing the same run around with Verizon as ATT. Except I actually have reception where I live with Verizon-  but still want all the features I could have had if I had stayed with ATT

I agree, it is a let down.  I have used the Sprint variant and its multi-window functionality already let's you use Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk and others and it is FAR more useful for multi-tasking.  I am not sure why the Verizon version is so limited.  One thing I definitely do like that Verizon gave us though is group texting.  The Sprint version doesn't have that capability.  In any event I hope VZW pushes out an update very very soon, but I know they are not known for "speedy" updates.

Just bought the Note 2 and was FULL of excitement with all of its functionality... been playing with it heavily and finally decided to do some research why I couldn't "Edit" the split screen Apps beyond the EXTREMELY short list of Apps provided.  Found this thread and now all my excitement is gone - lots of YouTube demos out there that show how cool this split-screen COULD HAVE BEEN (using Chrome, FB, YouTube), but NOOOOOOOooo....!!!!  For some reason Verizon has let us down, AGAIN!

Why was my post deleted?

My post was not instructing anyone to root and had no links.

It was simply letting people know that they can modify apps to support multi view.

How is modifying apps against Verizon's terms of service?

If I write my own app I can install it, so what's wrong with knowing how to change an app?

I don't know. I remember reading it.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

So do other carriers allow their Note 2 users to allow more usable apps in the Multiview Feature?
