Either that or the manufacturers and Verizon stopped with the un-uninstallable apps.

Also restoration disk aren't all that good. They just bring the computer back to original. You need to purchase just the OS alone, which has just the bare essentials of the OS.

My HP disks allow me to choose the bare min with OS and drivers, sans the HP mess I never use. Plus, I have a mirrored backup disk image of a base OS without the mess, just drivers and such.

If you were to purchase a retail version from Microsoft for a Windows operating system. There is a big difference of what you are referring to for the HP. Manufacturers of smartphones and computers are not going to stop including their own software once they get the OS. It's all about money.

Yeah, I used to sell the upgrades and full versions as part of a job I had. I know the difference between the manufacturer's version and the straight box version. I merely stated that there are options to exclude manufacturer additions thereby making essentially the same product and end result as a box version.

Imagine what my Note could do with out all the extra fat on it?
So, we have to look at Google Nexus, or One plus one Maybe. Every tuesday I think about the one plus one, but I would like to play with one first.

The OPO makes me second guess. Since CM is trying to take on Android, and Android basically built CM, it seems a bit unfair. Biting the hand that feeds.

OPO still has support issues, but those who get a good phone and love it are real happy. I also gather they have spawned their own counterfeitera...

I'm not expecting a lot of US adoption by either customers or carriers.
