Yes but mine never stayed off, just would randomly restart. I had mentioned it would happen when the Maxx was moved around. I doubt it being cause by a conflicting app, because this Maxx only had 2 apps installed that didn't come with the Maxx.
But I read something interesting online about this issue. It said that the Sim Card could have come loose. That's a possibility cause this Maxx took a beating, over time it was dropped a lot, and the screen was cracked on 3 separate occasions.
So I'm gonna send a link on how to remove the Sim Card, (quite easy to do) so you can check that it's seated well.
Hope the link comes through.

Is this happening at a certain battery percentage? Is the phone getting warm to the touch before this happens?

This may not be of much help to you. I had a Droid Maxx for 2 yrs great smartphone. After it was over a year old it would randomly once in awhile restart itself. I never tried to resolve it cause it wasn't to big of an issue with me cause it didn't stay off, it just restarted now and then. It seemed to happen when the phone was bounced around a little. Are these the same symptoms you're having, or does it stay off?

First it would randomly shut off and then turn it's self back on. I didn't know it turned it's self off or for how long. I would hear the "Droid" sound when it came back on. Now it shuts it's self off and I need to hold the power button 10 seconds to get it to turn back on.
This problem started exactly one year into using the phone. It pretty much sounds like your Droid Maxx.

Thank you for the link. It was very helpful. I removed the Sim Card and put it back in. Since the phone would shut off about 6 to 10 times a day, I should be easy for me to find out if this solution worked. I am hopeful that this will work since to problem was getting worse (as if something was coming loose.
FYI: my phone had been taking a beating recently. I have had it sitting loose in the truck I drive for work as opposed to having it in my pants pocket in the past.
I will see what happens while I am at work tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
Thank you for all your help.

LaurenMC, a phone that seems to be spooked is not what we want for you. Salisbury had some great suggestions for you. When did you first notice these sporadic shut downs? Do you recall any recent new apps, games or software?
