Verizons customer service is set up to fail.  Each employee at the independantly owned branches are independant contractors.  They will screw you to get a higher commission and when there is a problem they will not help because it costs them money.  If you call the Verizon main service they tell you they cannot help.  Easy to ship the responsibility to someone who indirectly works for you based on the way you have structured your company.  I am no fool, I was scammed out of my Iphone into the crap Razr.  Hours spent in the store trying to fix it.  Lying salesman to protect their commission and unwavering ass***** at Verison.  Do not get a phone here!

Read the return policy for the store (it's usually on the back of the receipt, and in most states, must be posted or available in the store), and then follow it to return your equipment.  Verizon allows you to cancel your contract penalty free within 14 days of signing up, so take advantage of that as well to end your contract without paying an Early Termination Fee.  Once you've done that, find a better place to buy a new phone, whether from a direct Verizon outlet or another provider.

If they won't let you return the phone per their own policy, call the BBB.  If you waited past the 14 days, that's on you.

Good luck!

They lied to me to get me beyond the date. I wanted the Iphone 4S exchange

and they told me the lead time was almost three weeks. They told me they

ordered it and that they would take my phone back in the end. After the

three weeks they told me they sent them the wrong phone and that it was my

problem. They lied and should not be able to get away with it. If Verizon

allows the second hand sales outlets they need to be responsible.

This was obiously not a Verizon Corp store, had to be a reseller.

It sounds to me like they did do things to protect thier commision, but there were things you could have done to protect yourself. For example, before the 14 days were up, return the RAZR and reactivate your old phone until the iPhone 4S was in your hands. Also, when they tell you something, Get it in writing....  With the managers signature.  If they're on the up and up, they will give it to you no problem.  If they won't, red flags will pop up in your mind.

Best of luck whatever you decide to do, or have done,

Third party agents may have their own policies regarding returning equipment, exchanges, etc. and are not always subject to the Verizon Worry Free Guarantee, or may be more lenient to disregard the difference or extension in their own return policy compared to Verizon's. Some retailers have devices with prices comparable, or even better than Verizon Direct Agents, but since the device is being sold from that company's warehouse, and not Verizon's, their policies do apply.

Verizon Retail Stores of all kinds are point of sale vendors. The associates are trained in how to distribute Verizon devices. Customer Service Representatives are trained in policy, plans, billing issues, and much more, but always work to reach a resolution with the customer regarding issues they may have with Verizon service. Sometimes, there are circumstances that may require or merit an exception to these policies. Dial *611 from your Verizon device and speak with a Representative regarding your questions or concerns. There may be options available to you.

Live and learn, but I would never have accepted a phone I didn't want under any circumstances.

Most people are not aware of the restocking fee even if you return a phone within the 14 days; the reason I have no interest in a "test drive".

It does appear you were strong-armed into a phone you didn't want and taken advantage of by high pressure sales tactics.

Their insinuation that the iphone is obsolete technology is salespeople bs.

"Yeah, give me a high tech 4G LTE model that can't keep a signal" is what I would have replied.

Don't know that you have any options now, but buy an iphone at full and sell this phone on eBay, or Craigslist.

Lies, deception, misinformation all standard operating proceedures at Verizon stores. I am a new customer with services costing over $700 permonth for my personal and business services. I can't wait for my contracts to expire. As we add phones we are no longer using verizon.

Customer service is a joke. My battery has gone dead several time while waiting for an answer. I have be transfered to non-answered extensions. The simplest questions are answered incorrectly.

I encourage the use of "****** consumer" and "complaint board"web sites so others will know what to expect.
