Yes, the most absurd and convoluted logic I've ever heard. These outrageous prices and stingy data allowances are PREDATORY, and arise from lack of true competition and strong regulatory oversight of the pricing structure in order to serve the consumer's interest, as opposed to the interests of corporate management and stock-holding investors. While Verizon and the other carriers laugh all the way to the bank on our dime, Europeans, who pay a fraction of what we Americans pay laugh at US for the absurd prices we pay for cell phone service. And yet, countless posters manage to rationalize "smaller amounts for higher prices" and "high overage fees" as GOOD for them? Some logic.
But that's not what is being discussed.
No true competition? Blame Sprint and T-mobile for totally dismissing 1/4 to 1/3 of the country. Even if you gave Sprint and T-mobile 40 MHz each of the 600 MHz spectrum would they expand to this to the 1/4 to 1/3 of the nation that currently doesn't have their service? Nope. Is that Verizon's or At&t fault? Nope.
Let not mention that notion that you can have unlimited data over 4G are ridiculous too.

First, You are NOT saving over anything else - your reduction in cost monthly may be real - but is has such huge consequences that I cannot see any fact or common sense in your comment/logic.
Wanna see savings, look at unlimited talk, text and data PER LINE (nothing shared) for 25 bucks/month (3G) and 40 bucks/month 4G (NO Contract, no hidden fees, no overages, wifi calling built in, free calls to Canada, free international calling to/from anywhere (restriction - must have internet service available).
I am a 25 year + Verizon customer and almost fell for the Share Everything plan until I got a knowledgeable Verizon rep on the phone...and he explained all the the *'s and gotcha's. It probably will cost you more than ANY other service provider over your 2-year service.
If saving money is your main concern, Verizon is not for you.
If unlimited everything is your wish, Verizon is not for you.

I disagree with the "lying" part.
This is a new plan and most reps have no idea of how it works. All needed information is posted. Kinda like buying a car without a test drive.....and then having the price of the faulty car increased AFTER the contract was signed.
What you have is a Rolls Royce of service providers. You are paying for that level of service and you agreed to it. If they want to keep you, they will fix the wrong that you have been done...but don't count on it.
You can test other providers without leaving Verizon. Simply order service from someone else and if it works, great. If not, undo the new service. I KNOW this can be done because this is exactly what I am in the process of doing.
When Verizon told me that it would increase my monthly bill from 155 to 320 to simply move my 2 children onto my plan (assuming I join Share Everything)....I choked. What is worse, I had to buy new phones at full retail - required. So I am looking at https://republicwireless.com/plans and I have ordered a new phone ($149.00) and $25.00/month service as a test. If I don't like it, I have 30 days to cancel and return the phone for a full refund (less 10 bucks shipping)

Whoa here. Competition exists everywhere - at various levels.
Use the car analogy - Want Yugo, GM, Ford, - all get you from point A to point B...but may break down often. Cheap oil changes and cheap parts.
Want quality - Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Hyandi (Sp). A to B, great warranty, great travel for dollar spent, a bit pricey to repair
Want Status - MB, Jag, Rolls, Verizon. All work kinda well. Annual costs are super high - but, hey....you look good.
Sales BS not-withstanding, Verizon provides the best nationwide coverage for the highest price, bar none.
If you travel outside of cities much, Verizon may be for you.
If you are mostly within cities, travel on main roads between cities, Verizon is Absolutely, definitely NOT for you.
Money saving and big text/data packages are NOT what Verizon offers - for your premium price - STATUS is what you get.

He should look at service providers with Unlimited data plans. They are common, MUCH cheaper and (with wifi) just as good on coverage....
to further your comment...why would they buy into a "limited" plan for 2 to 3 times the cost that other providers offer an Unlimited plan for (and NO talk sharing-that is unlimited too).
To reverse your logic. Business plan is to make it so expensive to go over your data...that you will buy insurance (extra, unused data) EVERY month. THAT is where the money is made.
