Commando 4g "home key" setting

My "home key" no longer takes me back to the home screen.  It always goes to the farthest left screen.  Does anyone have any idea on how do I correct this? I can find nothing in the user manual or online.

I have tried changing the home screens per page 29 of the user manual ("pinching"), but that doesn't reset the home screen.

FYI: I poised this issue on another discussion (https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/986893#986893), but neglected to make it a question. Hopefully a Verizon expert can help answer this.  Various community forum members have provided advice, but nothing has worked yet.

That did not work.  Weirdly, I cannot respond to comments here by responding to the email I get or by logging in on my phone.  My username and password do not work

Frankly I do not remember if the change started after a particular application uploading, or after an update.  I will backup my data and apps and will try the "hard reset" this weekend.

The hard reset worked. Thank you.

Of course it was a bit of pain placing and rearranging the apps so that they are close to what I had before.  For some reason the screen captures I had made of them did not get saved properly: the files were there, but were all blank (each a sort of red black color).  So I had to do that from memory.

Now if I can just figure out why I cannot log into comments from my phone, but that is a separate topic.
