Well, 6/6/2013 has come and gone. Looks like Verizon has dropped the ball on this one, along with giving up data to the government. Tomorrow Sprint will have a new customer.

I've had my G'zOne TYPE-S since 2007 and am now ready for the new Type L smarty phone. I thought Verizon was putting this out on the 6th? I guess not (maybe they're too busy with the NSA). I'm going to check out SPRINT's KYOCERA TORQUE since Verizon really has let down 121 million customers . . .

Is military spec different from the IP67 certification for water and dust resistance?

I believe so, military spec also incorporates tolerance to shock, temperature, and other variables. Here is some info I cut from a white paper that compared the two ratings:

Hmmmm . . .
Casio Commando Type L /// Samsung S4 Active
Processor : 2 core Snapdragon @ 1.5 Ghz /// 4 core Snapdragon @ 1.9GHz
OS : Android 4.0 /// Android 4.2.2
Battery : 1800mAh /// 2600mAh
Internal storage : 8GB /// 16GB
Waterproof rating : IPX5/IPX8 /// IP67
Camera : 8MP, 1080p /// 8MP, 1080p
Type L ALREADY OBSOLETE even before being released? (I know things can change at release, but Verizon hasn't even spouted one iota of this phone)
