As I browse the shopping mall of apps - lol....
I watch and await problem solving comments on some apps as this Os and device(s) is perfected (only guessing from observation ?) Although I am sure all the new sexy devices coming up, with advertisements similar to a monthly calendar girl theme (good marketing idea - eh?), might be hard for developers to keep up with all the noise. Uh..slow down folks or you will become the grass is greener Os...lol - Either way. I am a patient consumer as long as the product and service is quality, personable, reliable, felixible, valuable and of course unique. If this becomes another dime a dozen product like the iPhone and BB- bye!
I am also aware of the fact that more is not always better with devices that can become redundant problematic anchors to an Os ......mucking it all up.
Sooooo - on that note. For those trailblazers who have tried these Apps out - do you have any you would recommend to a newcomer that are Not redudant for the Moto Driod?
Example: I downloaded an app that gave the location of restaurants, services etc.. in the area that I already pretty much had available (Google) - so I removed.

You're asking the impossible question there Kitten, because the beauty of the Androids is supposed to be their personalization/customization. So what's good for me may be totally useless to you, but I'm gonna take a stab at this anyway. If you're into music, here are a few suggestions; "Pandora" - customizable internet radio that won't have you listening to the same swill day in and day out that comes out of your local radio station. "Iheartradio" - just in case there's a radio station you actually really like but can't access all the time, this can help alot, as more radio stations are jumping on this particular bandwagon all the time. "Shazam" - for when you hear a really good song on regular radio, but don't know who does it, or what the REAL name of the song is so you can search it out and download it somewhere. Pandora and Iheartradio both give you song titles and artists all the time, which is a nice feature.
"yxflash" does seem to play more vids I find online than the stock Eris Flash lite, so comes in handy. I'm not sure about the Moto Droid vs the Eris, but "Astro File Manager" is oh-so handy for navigating the hodge-podge on your SDcard.
Now the geek in me is thrilled to have "Free dictionary Org", "Currency Converter" from pocket tools, and "Unit Conversion" from Mathpad. And if you're a bargain hunter/coupon clipper, try "My Coupons Droid". Gives you coupons to deals on local stuff based on your GPS location, like buy one entree, get one free at local restaurants, or even links to free stuff to be sent to you. Gotten a few deals there already. I've gotten other apps that are cute toys, but not exactly stuff for my "must have" list.
BTW, I haven't paid for an app yet...these are all free. So there's my starters list for you. Just spend some time poking around the market. The beauty is, it's like a digital camera...if you download a lousy app and hate it, you just uninstall it. Nothing to lose.

Opps!
Correction .. "Mr" Dangerous, I meant to type - Oh my!!
You can tell my claws are tired and my eyes too. Trying to use a calendar on the Droid is not my saucer of cream I guess. Just gave up. I hit all the wrong buttons and it takes some time for me to get nowhere. I guess it is better to set up on a PC - LOL
OK - sorry for the mix up on your name

That's right, I haven't gotten my Doctorate yet in Dangerosity, so it's still just Mr. I knew I should have studied harder in school!
I think "Calendar" is one more app where the Eris might have a leg-up over the Moto. REALLY nice calendar in the HTC widgets. Easy to use and lets you plug in lots of info into each event.
Glad you found some of my suggestions helpful.

No specific app recommendations from me, however, I personally prefer to browse around for apps on http://androlib.com from my PC, where you can see all the info, reviews, screen shots etc on a nice single screen... If you install one of the "Barcode Scanners" that support "QR Codes" (I like the one from the ZXing Team) you can use it to "take a picture" of the QR Code on the page of an app you like, and it will take you right to Google Market on your phone to install the app.

Beautimous O' Great One - (smile)
A good start. I am holding off on the paid apps for now - at least until I decide this is the device for me.
Thank you

Dangerous....naahh.. it is not how hard you study sometimes...it is the road travelled. There are plus's and minus's in a Doctorate, depends on priorities . But that is a whole other topic and board - lol
About the calendar? Maybe Droid will come up with a decent app, but at this time I am having trouble even using the Droid to post answrers on this board (similar to my problem with calendars). I can write in the Subject but when I try to go to the Body it won't let me type into it ;(
Must be doing something wrong.
Thanks
