JBL Speaker Comparisons
I'm a gadget junky. I have had every JBL Charge since the first one came out. The first sounded amazing and put JBL on the map for Bluetooth speakers. I then got the second one, which improved the bass, but lowered the high ranges and the volume output was definitely decreased. When the third came out I did not buy it right away, as I wanted to see about the flip 4 with the new JBL Connect and I also picked up the JBL Xtreme. So, I ended up buying the Flip 4 and Charge 3 at the same time and

would return the one that didn't sound as great. I returned the flip 4 and kept the Charge 3.... Here is why...
So here is my comparison:
JBL Charge 1: Great volume and high ranges. Low base compared to later models. Rating A-
JBL Charge 2: The higher ranges were decreased, but the bass and mids sound a lot better. The catch: Max Volume level went down a lot (Options: Mic, External Charging, & Multi Device Connect) Rating B+
JBL Charge 3: The higher ranges were brought back and the mids and bass still remain great. The volume level was increased back to a good level. JBL took the best parts of the Charge 1 and Charge 2 and created the Charge 3. This is the best sounding JBL so far. (Options: Mic, External Charging, & JBL Connect, Splash Proof) Rating A+
JBL Flip 4: The mids are good and it gets loud, but the bass and highs are really off. It makes the sound sort of distorted. I think JBL tried to pack a little too much into this smaller design. Compared to the Charge 3, it does not even sound like a JBL. I do like the new JBL Connect Plus feature, as you can connect to multiple speakers for surround or for larger spaces. (Options: Mic, JBL Conect Plus, Waterproof) Rating: B
Hope this helps everyone!!
