Latin Grammy Superstar Ana Barbara Talks Tech with Fans during Private Los Angeles Dinner

Latin Grammy superstar Ana Barbara talked tech and music during a private dinner with two Southern California fans, winners of Verizon Wireless’ MoreSoCal Spectacular Summer Contest. The fans won by posting the most compelling pictures on Instagram that showed how mobile technology helps them stay connected to friends and family.

“Today, mobile technology and social media are essential communication tools wherever we are,” said Ana Barbara. “For me, mobile technology lets me engage and get closer to my fans on Facebook and Twitter. Connecting with people and sharing the ‘So Cal’ lifestyle is what the contest was all about. I appreciate the opportunity to partner with Verizon for this priceless experience and to meet some of my superfans in person.”

With their mobile devices close at hand, winners Yovany Perez of Escondido, California and Arturo Lomeli of Riverside, California captured once-in-a-lifetime moments during dinner. The highlight they enjoyed the most was when Ana Barbara, the “Queen of Grupera Music,” serenaded them with two songs, accompanied by Mariachi Espectacular de Beto Jimenez.

“I never would have thought that a simple picture taken with a cell phone could land me this special experience,” said Perez. “Technology and social networks have definitely made it easier to connect with a superstar like Ana Barbara. This moment is unforgettable!”

Following the serenade, the artist joined all four guests for dinner, signed autographs, viewed both winners’ contest entries and chatted with them about her life as an artist. And of course, both winners didn’t forget to take that one-of-a-kind selfie.
